An EAC certificate is a document attesting that your products conform to the regulations of the Member States of the Eurasian Customs Union and is obligatory for most imported goods, especially cosmetics, foodstuffs, toys, textiles, electrical and industrial equipment.
It is a requirement for:
The EAC certificate is the equivalent of the CE certificate used in the European Union.
The Eurasian Customs Union is an economic zone for the free trade of goods formed by the following 5 countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The official language of the Eurasian Customs Union is Russian, therefore any accompanying documents must be in Russian.
If necessary, we offer technical translation services in Russian. Request a technical translation / a technical translation assessment
All certified products are clearly visible thanks to the EAC conformity marking on product packaging and are registered beforehand in the EAC customs computer registry. Depending on the nature of the goods being shipped, the exporter may be required to comply with one or more types of certification.
The procedure may require a combination of certificates, registrations, declarations, authorizations or, where appropriate, an exception letter for products not subject to a particular certification. Request a complete audit of your EAC file.
There are various types of EAC certificates, the most common being the "TR CU" (Certification to Unified Technical Regulations) including a wide variety of regulations. To this may be added specific certificates for each country, market and specific applications such as GOST, Measurement Pattern Approval (Metrology), Fire Safety Certificate, etc.
The GOST certification in Russia and the local regulations of EAC Member States have been progressively replaced by certification to the Unified Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Customs Union (TR CU). At present, however, there are still some GOST certificates valid for specific individual countries and applications withing the Eurasian Customs Union, which we will detect during an in-depth evaluation.
To know which certificate to choose, we study each of the products to import, their technical characteristics and their identification codes, called "customs codes". Request a free analysis
A TR CU certificate is valid in the 5 countries of the Eurasian Customs Union: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The period of validity is to be defined during the creation of the certificate and can be between 1 and 5 years. At the end of this period, the certificate must be renewed so that your merchandise always complies with local regulations. Request a renewal of your certificate
For most EAC certificates, a company registered under Russian law (or registered in another country of the Eurasian Customs Union) is required to act as the applicant for your EAC certificate, a so-called "local declarant".
This company will carry the legal and criminal responsibility of your products throughout the territory of the Eurasian Customs Union. A local registrant can be a subsidiary of your company registered in one of the 5 countries of the union, a distributor, or a third party company.
Don’t have a subsidiary in Russia? We offer a "neutral" local declarant solution (without any commercial interest in your products and therefore no risk of conflict) so that you can fully benefit from your certificates and dispose of them in any way towards your commercial objective in the EAC territory. The advantage being: you do not give ownership of your certificates to a distributor who may no longer represent you in the future, therefore keeping the freedom to share your certificates over time with any other partner, customer or distributor. Certifications can take different forms, but all are issued by certification bodies accredited by the Federal Agency for Accreditation of the Eurasian Customs Union.
